The Nominations Committee makes a commitment every year for all eligible productions be seen by its member. Many theatre companies in Austin offer comps to committee members, however companies are under no obligation to do so. If you can’t afford them, some of our members will pay to attend your show. Unfortunately, some members are on fixed incomes, and by making comps available it helps them to see your work. Should you wish to extend this courtesy to committee members, we’ll need to know the following:
- Who should members contact (e-mail, phone number, etc.) to arrange reservations? Should they talk to a specific person who will have the list of their names, or will anyone do?
- How many comps may each member claim? Some groups offer two per committee member, some one. Some offer “x” total tickets, first come, first served.
- Do you wish to limit performances at which comps are offered? Some producers set “no Saturdays” or “no final weekend” in their policies, when they expect to fill the house with paying customers.
- Do you want to require that reservations be made or can a committee member walk up to the box office and request a comp?
- Any other limitations you wish to make?
